Safety Monitor Description

Posted by Tray Hines on Nov 20, 2022 6:30:00 AM

A school safety monitor is a person responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors in a school setting. This may include tasks such as patrolling the school grounds and buildings to ensure that safety and security protocols are being followed, monitoring security cameras and other security systems, and assisting with emergency response efforts in the event of an incident.

In addition to these tasks, a school safety monitor may also be responsible for managing the inventory and maintenance of safety and security equipment, such as radios, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers. They may also train other staff and students on emergency procedures and safety protocols.

To succeed in this role, a school safety monitor should have a strong commitment to safety and security and remain calm and focused in potentially stressful situations. They should also have good observation and communication skills and be able to work independently and follow instructions. Sometimes, a safety monitor may also need to be available to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours
