School Groundskeepers

Posted by Tray Hines on Nov 11, 2022 2:00:00 PM

A school groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining a school campus's grounds and outdoor areas. This may include mowing lawns, trimming hedges and trees, raking leaves, and removing debris. In addition, a school groundskeeper may also be responsible for maintaining irrigation systems, planting and caring for flowers and other plants, and ensuring that outdoor areas are safe and accessible for students and staff.

In some cases, a school groundskeeper may also be responsible for maintaining and repairing outdoor equipment, such as playground structures, benches, and trash cans. They may also manage the inventory and order materials and supplies needed for grounds maintenance.

To be successful in this role, a school groundskeeper should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good physical stamina. They should also be knowledgeable about gardening and landscaping techniques and be able to work independently and follow instructions. Communication and interpersonal skills may also be helpful, as the groundskeeper may need to interact with students, staff, and contractors.
